BeaDreamer News

Some Pressing news!

Impress Bead Liner
Read about this new tool on www.lampworketc.com in the sale rack forum! Here's a link to order now. I don't have it on this site yet. It is over on my new site that is still under construction, but the web pages for ordering it are functional, so go on over there to order it.

BeaDreamer on-line video!

In this 30 second video clip I clean a simple transparent amethyst bicone.  See how remarkably fast and easy it is to use the 3/32 BeaDreamer, and the great finish it produces.

Adobe Flash Player (formerly Macromedia) is pre-installed on most browsers, and a free download or upgrade is available from Adobe.

I guarantee it is quite different from any other tool you've ever used, and nothing shows that more clearly than actually seeing it in action!

Dialup customers: It will take approximately 90 seconds to load and begin playing. Keep the faith. If you have any trouble viewing it, or have any questions, I would appreciate an email.

MORE NEWS...

5/64 and 1/8 Beadreamers that look and work just like the 3/32 are now available to order at the same price as the 3/32 tools!
The 5/64 and 1/8 tools are currently available only by special order, and will usually be shipped in one to three weeks when the next batch of tools is manufactured. I've had great customer feedback on these. Please email me for instructions to order them. If demand warrants, I will be adding a cart for them in the near future, and keeping a few of each in stock.

3/32 and 1/16 tools will ship next or second business day!

What it is:

The Beadreamer is a precision cylindrical, fluted hone, machined and coated to very tight tolerances. It removes100% of bead release, while automatically honing an extremely thin layer of glass, to produce a satin smooth, perfectly cylindrical surface, typically in a single, 2 second pass. You simply push it straight through the bead, and pull it straight out. That is simply impossible to do with any other tool of which I'm aware.

Here's an illustration of how the tool works. A picture is worth a thousand words! If the image is small, hover your mouse and click the box that appears in a second or two. Scroll down to see the whole thing. Use your browser's back button to return here.

Read what lampworking super star Kim Neely has to say below, about the Beadreamer: (This is verbatim from her website blog for Tuesday, June 21, 2005, reprinted here with Kim's kind permission.

Kim's blog:

I have been meaning to drop a note here for any beadmakers who read this page - I ordered a new bead cleaning tool called the Beadreamer recently, after seeing a recommendation by another lampworker somewhere online, and I am absolutely in love with this product! It's a cylindrical diamond bit for a Dremel or other rotary tool, comes in either 1/16" or 3/32" sizes, and is hands-down the best bit I've ever used for cleaning beads. This thing has literally cut the time I spend cleaning beads by 75%, and it does such a beautiful job - it removes ALL of the bead release and a micro-thin layer of glass from the bead hole, pretty much in a single pass, and it leaves the bead hole incredibly smooth and clean as a whistle...you can especially see the difference with transparent beads. Anyway, if you hate cleaning beads, you really want to check this out. Compared to a standard tapered diamond bit, these are pricey - around $30 each - but believe me when I say they are well worth the dough. I've been using mine for a few weeks now, and I don't plan to use anything else to clean my beads again, ever. I probably sound like a Stepford wife, but truly: if you order one of these, you'll see what I mean...it is so completely superior to anything else I've ever used to clean beads that I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't own one. So...MUST try this, my sistahs in toil...and you will thank me!

Kim is speaking here of the 1/16 inch model, by the way. Please visit Kim's website, WWW.BluffRoadArtGlass.com and have a look at her outstanding work, and see her auctions at bluffroadartglass on ebay.

Here's another rave from Vickie Lee of VickieLeeStudios Her ebay name is also vickieleestudios . Vickie is a marvelously talented sculptural lampworker with an impressive 34 years of experience in the field. Vickie is well past 2500 beads cleaned with her 3/32 Beadreamer and counting.

Dynamic Duo...

I can't help but rave about the beadreamer from Dave Fousek at Art In The Round. I began using his fantastic reamer in a new cordless MiniMite Dremel, about 4 months ago, and it has been a godsend for me, saving me time, money and a lot of frustration. Not only did the reamer work to perfection for me, but when Dave made the suggestion of Arrow Springs Sludge Plus for the recommended release, it made a HUGE difference with my work. When Sludge Plus is thinned to the recommended consistency, it works flawlessly in my bead designs. It holds even my longest and most difficult sculptural beads, yet releases them every time without a lot of struggling. When the Sludge Plus is thinned properly, the Beadreamer is then able to clean even the longest hole in one pass, as advertised by Art In The Round. I must admit that it took a couple of small changes in my routine to find the perfect combination for these two products, but when used properly they are in my opinion.....the DYNAMIC DUO, and I wouldn't consider anything else.

It's a no brainer. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish! Escape the grind. Get back to your torch. Try it risk free for 30 days, and use it as much as you want. If you don't agree it's the bee's knees, send it back for a full refund. I'll even pay your return postage, no arguments!  You have nothing to loose, except hours of drudgery at the sink, meticulously scratching out bead release, while losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars in potential profits per year (Yes, I said Thousands.) Have a look at this.

Please feel free to email me at the link below, or check the Contact Us page for questions. I'll be happy to respond, typically the same day.

Thanks,

Enjoy the magic of glass!
